Lifts with a twist

See original layout and credits here.

This weeks lifts with a twist is BEAUTIFUL! My layout doesn't do it justice, especially since it's an 8x10 (see post below for my thoughts on that). This is for Douglas' 12 month page.

Life after Stand Up and Scrap

This is my first layout since the Stand Up and Scrap contest. I needed a break and I was worried I wouldn't create as good of a layout as I did in the contest. And this one isn't as good but I still like it. I'm tired of scrapping in 8x10's. Thats what Douglas' first year album is in and it's hard! That's partially why I haven't scrapped lately b/c I have 6 pages of his that need to be done so that his album is finished and I don't like scrapping that size so I've been putting it off. His next album will be 8x8 like our family album. Anyways, here is his 9 months/first steps page.

You can see the credits here.

Stand Up and Scrap (Last 3)

Here are the last 3 layouts for the challenge. To see all the credits go here.

Challenge #4: Color = Power

Monochromatic Color Schemes - this week, bring your emotions to life using a monochromatic color scheme which accurately expresses the feelings behind the memory you are trying to share. A SINGLE color family (ie pinks, greens, etc) in addition to the allowable use of black, white and neutrals (kraft paper, etc) are what the judges will be looking for in this week's design focus.

Challenge #5: A picture says 1000 words

Clean & Graphic Pages - This week, we challenge you to capture a photograph that simply speaks for itself and then create a clean and graphic page which lets your photograph do all the talking. A small date or caption is acceptable but otherwise your page should have NO major journaling and NO substantial titlework. Additionally, NO stock photography may be used this week - your photo must be one you took personally.

Challenge #6: What Will You Do Next?

"What are you going to do next? What are you going to do to make this world a better place?"

Stand Up and Scrap Reveal Part 1

There was about 300 people who participated in this contest with 10 winners each week for 6 weeks so I was never expecting to win anything. My hopes were to be motivated and pushed to do new things and that I did. I'm proud of myself for what I've created. Some I like better than others but I am happy with them all. There were 2 parts of the challenge: an inspirational focus and design focus.

Week 1 Challenge:
If you could have one dream come true what would it be? and
Brushwork - we want to challenge you to use brushes to bring the inspirational focus of your page to life.

Week 2 Challenge:
What makes your life sweet?
Patterned Paper -use no less than 3 prints on your page. Remember, a little pattern goes a long way so show us your creative uses for patterned paper without being gawdy.

Week3 Challenge:

Music-let music be your muse - Use a lyric of a song to create a layout that is meaningful to you and the people you love.

Typography - use typography (font work) to add interest and mood to the lyrical focus of your page.

State Fair Right page

I've been a slacker about posting b/c I've been busy scrapping for the "Stand up & scrap" contest and we can't post those layouts until they are done. I'm really proud of myself for what I've done and can't wait to post those layouts!! Anyways, here is the 2nd State Fair page.

Cousins Digi-lift

You can see the credits and what the original layout looked liked here. http://www.thedigiboutique.com/studio/showphoto.php?photo=35722&cat=500&ppuser=1478

8 months

I started this as a scraplift of someone but never finished it so I don't remember who it was. Anyway, I reliazed that I need to speed up Douglas' album. I do a page for every month with milestones and then whatever extra ones I want to do. This isn't one of my favorites but I didn't want to start over so its fine for right now.

First Digi-dare

So far this blog is serving its purpose. I keep thinking how I need to get a new layout up for my viewers (all 3 of you). :-) This is my first attempt at a digi-dare. Here were the requirements:

"Have 5 pics, one for each piece of beauty-no rectangles!!!! Square pictures only!! (Your LO can be a rectangle! LOL!)-convert your pics to black and white-since your pics will be b/w, use your journaling to convey why those things are beautiful to you."

It's not my favorite. I think I'll go back and add some color to the pictures but I didn't think it was "legit" for this dare.

Beginnings

Well, I decided to try out my own scrap blog. I didn't know if I should because I'm not as involved as Sarah but I like looking at Brianne scrap blog so I decided to go for it. Keep in mind that I'm no expert (or even that good) at paper or digital scrapbooking!!

Slowly but surely

I signed up for Stand up and scrap and am excited yet scared about it. You can only use certain designers things and I don't have very much to work with. The thing I look forward to most is their challenges. It should work out all right.

I will post new layouts soon but I couldn't stand the empty look of the blog so here are some of my favorites.

I just finished this page for Lifts with a Twist and wanted to share! This picture was taken last Sunday and he just looked like a little pro golfer in his polo and plaid shorts. I just love this kid!
